What is Soulara?

We are a meal delivery program based on a whole-food, plant-rich diet. Our team of professional chefs and nutritionists work together to design meals that contain the optimal amount of high quality plant-based protein, hydrating fresh produce and nutrient-dense superfoods to help balance, restore and heal your body, so you can look and feel your absolute best. We deliver fresh (never frozen), nutrient-rich, delicious meals straight to your door every week. By providing great-tasting food and incredible convenience, we do all of the work for you. No calorie counting, carb-tracking, food journals, shopping, cooking, or dirty dishes.

Can i choose my menu?

We offer a rotating menu of delicious meals that changes weekly as well as seasonally. You can pick and choose your meals each week from the meal planner.

Where are your meals cooked?

We are based in Sydney! All our meals are cooked out of our vegan-only production kitchen.

How do i sign up to Soulara?

1) Go to our homepage (

2) Enter your email address and your postcode (the one where you want your food delivered!) in the available sign-up box.

If we cannot deliver to your zip code, we will let you know at this stage. We can only deliver meals to certain areas of the country based on logistical restrictions from our carriers.

3) Choose the type of meal plan you want.

All of our meals arrive in a single delivery per week. (You can change the number of meals you receive per week in your account!)

4) Select the meals you would like to receive in your first delivery. The meals you choose here tell us about the types of meals you like and will be used by us to plan future menus for you, aside from the first weekly order of your subscription. You will be able to change the meals you receive every week, up to two weeks in advance, using your account. (We are always adding new meals, so you'll always have lots of great options to choose from!)

5) Complete the checkout process Here, you simply provide your personal contact information, your payment information, and your delivery address information.

What do i need to know before i order?

First, we are a subscription service.

In short, once you sign up with us, you will regularly receive deliveries from us (and be charged for those deliveries) every single week unless you otherwise pause or cancel your subscription.

Second, you have a weekly deadline.

Because we ship fresh meals, we need 5-6 days to plan your next batch of meals into our production schedule before the meals are delivered. You therefore have a deadline by which you have to make any changes to your next order prior to the order entering our production process - at which point, we cannot alter or cancel it.

Third, you can self-manage nearly every aspect of your subscription.

Because we know life is busy, we allow you maximum ability to plan and customize your subscription, including planning future deliveries up to 2 weeks in advance! On a weekly basis, you can also change the number of meals you'll receive or change the delivery address for a specific order.

Fourth, you should review your menu every week.

When you sign up with us, you choose the meals you want for your first delivery, at which point we take that same menu and duplicate it across the other deliveries that are planned into our system when you sign up. You want to make it a habit to review your menu before your next order's weekly deadline to make sure it contains the meals you want since we do update our menu regularly.

Fifth, you can skip a week or pause your subscription.

If you're out of town for a week or two, or simply don't want to receive Soulara meals for a period of time, you can easily skip a week of delivery or pause your subscription to stop being charged and stop receiving meals.

What is the Meal Planner?

The Meal Planner is where you go to manage your subscription for your weekly orders.

This includes managing:

the meals you receive every week the number of meals you receive in a delivery the delivery address for a specific delivery

...and more.

When you initially sign up with us, the Meal Planner will show you your first scheduled delivery and one more delivery into the future.


Our Meals

Is there enough protein in Soulara meal plans?

Our plans are designed to give you all of the bioavailable, easy-to-digest plant-based protein you need to build lean muscle, trigger metabolic functions in your body and keep your energy levels up. We use a varied assortment of plant-based protein sources such as quinoa, hemp seeds, spirulina, nuts, chia seeds, beans, kale and many more!

Are your meals vegan?

Yes! Our meals are 100% plant-based and vegan friendly.

Are your meals gluten-free?

Most of our meals are 100% gluten-free! Occasionally we may include a meal that contains gluten in it. But we will let you know if this is the case.

Why are Soulara meals healthy?

Each Soulara meal is created around the science behind a whole-food, plant-based diet. Our meals are designed with the perfect balance of plant-based protein, hydrating fresh produce and nutrient-dense superfood ingredients. And they’re mostly free of common allergens like gluten and dairy (an occasional meal may contain gluten). Each meal is full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibre to keep you feeling amazing!

Are Soulara meal plans suitable for weightloss?

New research has found that switching to a plant-based diet, rather than a low-calorie one, can be twice as effective for losing weight — and keeping it off. After all, a diet shouldn’t be a short-term weight loss effort, but a long-term lifestyle change. A recent study in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition monitored 74 participants, splitting them up into those who ate conventional low-calorie meals and those who had plant-based options. After six months, the low-calorie group only lost an average of 3.2 kilograms, while the plant-based group lost 6.2 kilograms.

At Soulara, we create meals with the optimised amount of healthy proteins, vegetables, grains, and nuts to make sure you’re getting nutrition-packed meals that aid you in meeting your weight goals, without the deprivation.

Packaging for Freshness

Is your packaging recyclable?

We pride ourselves on recycling and minimizing waste whenever possible, so you need not worry about the environmental consequences of our packaging. We package our boxes with non-toxic ice packs and recyclable insulation - that's it! The gel inside the ice packs is non-toxic, water soluble, and safe for septic systems and the plastic encasing for them is recyclable. The plastics we use for our actual meal containers, however, are completely recyclable, as well as reusable.

How are my meals individually packaged?

All our meals are packaged in microwavable containers with a plastic film. The trays are microwave-safe, do not release BPA when heated, and are made with a manufacturing process that is 30% cleaner than other plastic manufacturing. This type of plastic can be directly recycled, significantly reducing its carbon footprint and ensuring it does not end up in the landfills or oceans.

How long do your packages stay fresh after shipment?

We design our packages to withstand two full days of shipment, plus twelve hours after delivery, to ensure we can reach as many customers as possible with our delicious meals! Please note, when you receive your Soulara package, it is not unusual for your gel packs to be partially melted. You would just want to make sure that the meals are cool to the touch, which is the tell-tale sign that all is well!

Once you have received your meals, they will have their individual expiry dates on them.

How do you keep food fresh for me to eat?

We use special modified atmospheric packaging in our shipments to keep your food deliciously fresh. Modified atmosphere is the practice of modifying the composition of the internal atmosphere of a package In order to improve the shelf life, modified atmosphere packaging can extend the practical shelf life of fresh foods by 200% or more compared to packaging in air.

Certain meals are also snap frozen to lock in nutrition and keep your food at it's optimal freshness.

The modification process lowers the amount of oxygen (O2), moving it from 20.9% to 0% in order to slow down the growth of aerobic organisms and the speed of oxidation reactions. This process is safe and allows food to last longer without the use of preservatives.

We also keep your food fresh using custom insulation and non-toxic ice packs.

The Shipping Process

Do i need to be home to receive my meals?

Nope, you do not need to be home for your Soulara delivery! The third party carriers we use will leave our packages at your door without a signature required to ensure that the box is delivered in a timely manner, since our meals are perishable.

What time of the day will i receive my meals?

The time when your meals are delivered can vary and depend on the shipping carrier, as well as how many packages they have to handle and when they’ll be servicing your area. The delivery time for your meals could therefore be earlier in the day or as late as the early evening. Nevertheless, please know that we design our packages to withstand 2 full days of shipment, plus 12 hours – so, either way, your food will arrive fresh!

When do i receive my meals?

We deliver between 7am - 6pm.

The Subscription Process

Can I order just one delivery of meals and nothing more?

If you want to receive a single week of meals or at least try out our meals before regularly receiving them on a weekly basis, you can definitely do that!

All you have to do is

  • Place an order through us
  • Pause your subscription immediately afterwards

...and that's it!

The pause won't impact your initial order - i.e.: you'll still get the first delivery - but would prevent you from being charged again soon after receiving your first delivery. You can easily unpause your subscription when you want to start receiving meals again - easy! You don't need to enter credit card information again or go through the checkout process. The subscription will start up again exactly as you left it.

Do I have a deadline for making changes to my next order?

Yes. There is a deadline every week by which you need to make changes to your next order to ensure the changes register in our system.

We need to know what meals to cook on a given day or else we couldn't guarantee the level of efficiency our customers require - especially when dealing with perishable food. As a result, when you have a weekly order coming up, we need to know whether you want the meals (and, if so, what meals you want and where you want them) some 5-6 days before you would actually receive the meals... hence, the weekly deadline.

You need to make changes to your next order by this deadline if you want to:

  • Stop from being charged for/receiving the meals
  • Change the number of meals you'll receive
  • Change the delivery address for the meals

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes, you certainly can!

...BUT, if you do cancel a subscription, it's important to note that you are not cancelling any order for which you have already been charged and which is already processing. Any such order would already have been programmed into our system for the preparation process to begin (yes, we're that fast!). Please note that there is a weekly deadline by which you need to make changes to your subscription - including pausing the subscription or cancelling it - before you are next charged. We send weekly emails to remind you of this deadline.

Please note, however, there are alternatives to cancelling your subscription, based on your needs:

  1. You could skip a specific weekly order in your subscription. This would mean you opt out of receiving a specific order (i.e.: you'd still get other orders you haven't skipped) and is a great tool for sporadic absences from home. No need to cancel your entire subscription if you just want to make sure you won't receive meals for a week or two!
  2. You could pause your subscription indefinitely. This means that you wouldn't receive any further charges or deliveries until you proactively choose to unpause the subscription, so it's great tool for longer absences - no deadlines to worry about! This has the same effect as a cancellation - i.e.: no deliveries, no charges - but makes it easier to sign back up later and keeps more options open for you!

How can I stop receiving meals from you?

If you didn't want to receive meals, there are a few options:

  1. You could skip a specific weekly order in your subscription. This would mean you opt out of receiving a specific order (i.e. you'd still get other orders you haven't skipped). This is a great tool for sporadic absences from home.
  2. You could pause your subscription indefinitely. This means that you wouldn't receive any further charges or deliveries until you proactively choose to unpause the subscription, so it's great tool for longer absences - no deadlines to worry about!
  3. You could cancel your subscription. This is an option of no return, because once you cancel a subscription, you can't reactivate it - so if there's even a 0.2% chance you'll return to us, we recommend pausing the subscription instead. This way, if you do sign back up, the process will be all the easier for you... literally just a click of a button.

How does the subscription process work?

We are a subscription service. When you sign up with us, you are charged every week and have food shipped to you every week by default - unless, of course, you choose to skip a week of food or pause or cancel your subscription.

When you do sign up, you will notice in your account that, aside from the meals you selected for your first order, we also display two weeks orders into the future for you, with pre-selected menus that basically duplicate your original order.

The menu we select for each order is based on what you ordered in your first order and also based on any dietary preferences you communicated to us during the sign-up process. We add one meal to our menu on a weekly basis (sometimes two!) and we also sometimes remove meals from our menu, so the menu we pre-select for your upcoming orders will take into account any meals we will be premiering or removing in the near future.

You are free to go in and update the meals for any weekly order to whatever you desire, provided you do so by the deadline we email to you every week, at which point you are charged for your order and your meals are programmed into our system. (We sometimes allow a little extra time to change meals aside from that, but just take notice of the deadline.)

Our main goal is to get you food every week as seamlessly as possible!

How often am I charged for my meals?

We are a subscription service, so we charge you when you initially order a subscription and then every week thereafter. Your weekly charge will be processed 5-6 days before the delivery itself, based on your location.

A few things would stop you from being charged:

  • If you skipped a week of meals, you wouldn't be charged by us, because you wouldn't be getting meals that week.
  • If you paused your subscription indefinitely, you wouldn't be charged until, and unless, you unpause the subscription again.

Please also note, once you pause or cancel your subscription, you would not receive any further weekly charges without your permission.

How much does a meal cost?

The price of our meals change depending on the plan. As you will notice, the per-meal price changes from meal plan to meal plan, with meal costs as low as $8.95 per meal (wow!!) to $9.95 per meal.

How long do your meals last for?

All our meals have a "use by" date on the packaging which gives you the day by which you should ideally eat the meal to ensure the best food quality and freshness. Because we don't use artificial/chemical preservatives, the meals have a shorter shelf life than say, commercial supermarket frozen dinners, etc. (just like if you were to store home-cooked food in the refrigerator or freezer).

Can i heat my meals up in the oven?

Our meals are designed to be heated in the microwave, since they already arrive fully cooked. If you don’t have a microwave or would rather not use one, however, you can certainly use an oven or a stovetop!


  • Place the item in an oven-safe dish and cover the top in tin foil. Heat the oven to 160c
  • Lunch: heat for 8 minutes, stir once, place back in the oven for 2 minutes
  • Dinner: heat for 8 minutes, stir once, place back in the oven for 2 minutes

Remember, you are not cooking the meal, just heating it – so, once the item is hot it is ready to eat!

How do i heat up my meals?

Our meals are designed to be heated in the microwave since they already arrive fully cooked. You will notice instructions on each meal container regarding how long to heat the food. Slit the plastic on the top to release steam during the microwaving process and microwave for about 2 minutes. Keep in mind, though, that some microwaves may require shorter or longer heating time than others. You know your microwave best, so you may want to try out your first meal assuming an average cooking time (a little under 2 minutes) and then adding to that time as you see fit.

Can I freeze my meals?

Our meals are designed to be refrigerated to preserve their freshness, but we understand that life happens and you are not always able to eat them right away. Therefore, if freezing is necessary, you can indeed freeze the food. If you go the freezing route, please follow the heating instructions provided below. Keep in mind that some items freeze better than others. We do not recommend freezing salads.

To heat meals from a frozen state:

  • Do not defrost.
  • Microwave for 1 min from frozen state.
  • Follow original heating instructions provided.
